Maverick Transportation Certified as One of the Safest Fleets in America (5/12/09)

Maverick Transportation, LLC was recently formally recognized by Aon Risk Services as being SafeFleet Certified. The SafeFleet program compares individual fleet’s safety records against the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMSCA) national average. Those fleets with at least a 15% better than national average rating pass the SafeFleet test.

When calculating safety performance, SafeFleet consultants use eight separate benchmarks to arrive at a total average including DOT-crash rate per million miles, workplace lost-time injuries per 100 workers, and more. Aon consultants analyze each fleet’s performance against the national average through an extensive on-site audit that tracks individual fleet’s safety data back for two and three year time periods depending on the data being analyzed.

After this audit, Aon recognized Maverick Transportation, LLC as “one of the safest trucking fleets in the United States,” according to the certification paperwork. The certification also states, “Maverick Transportation’s safety performance is 20% better than the national average for the trucking industry.”
