Maverick Transportation announced Jerry Bass of Benton, AR, as their Driver of the Month for May 2008. Bass has been with Maverick for over 3 years and has spent 14 years a professional truck driver.

“Jerry is a very conscientious driver with a great deal of experience,” said Fleet Manager Beth Paladino. “He is always willing to offer solutions and be proactive when problems arise.”

A former driver instructor and the fifth recipient of Driver of the Month honors for 2008, Bass has proven himself a leader in the company’s fleet. He attributes his longevity and success at Maverick to the amount of home time he receives as an over the road driver.

Every month Maverick recognizes a driver from the company’s fleet who takes pride in his profession and the company, employs safety, and maintains Maverick standards in all they do. Employees vote from the twelve Drivers of the Month and the Driver of the Year will be announced at the end of 2008. As Driver of the Month, Bass will also represent Maverick drivers on the prestigious Driver Advisory Council.
