Maverick Announces February Driver of the Month (4/13/09)

Maverick Transportation announced driver Bert Simmons of Coyle, OK as their Driver of the Month for February 2009.

Simmons has been a Maverick driver for almost four years and has spent 6 years as a professional truck driver.

“Bert is consistently one of the top performers on my fleet,” said Fleet Manager Robert Haynie. “He is always professional and willing to help out whenever he can.”

The second recipient of twelve Drivers of the Month for 2009, Simmons has proven himself a leader in the company’s fleet. He rates among the best in his fleet for performance numbers and has received a safety award.

Simmons attributes his longevity and success at Maverick to great pay and home time and said, “I feel a loyalty towards Maverick for all they have done for me, getting me home and paying me so well throughout my years at the company.”

Every month Maverick recognizes a driver from the company’s fleet who takes pride in his profession and the company, employs safety, and maintains Maverick standards in all they do. Employees vote from the twelve Drivers of the Month and the Driver of the Year will be announced at the end of 2009. As Driver of the Month, Simmons will also represent Maverick drivers on the prestigious Driver Advisory Council.
